Grant's areas of
expertise include:

Energy - issues in electricity generation, distribution and reliability; emerging energy technology; environmental impacts; global access; the carbon cycle; energy supply and demand

Since March 2002, Grant's written the monthly "Future of Electricity" column for Kentucky Living magazine, published by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives.

These columns have been awarded several prizes including 2nd place honors at the national 2008 CCA Institute.
Selected columns and new material are available now in a new booklet "An Electric Utility Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gases," published by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives. The booklet is a report on the Electric Power Research Institute's PRISM analysis for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the United States.

The cooperative business model and volunteerism - including rural utilities, volunteer fire departments, and community leadership development programs
